ORDIA is working towards WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
We want the website to be usable by as many people as possible. This statement is deliberately honest: the website has received structural and automated checks, but it has not yet completed an independent expert accessibility audit, so we do not claim full compliance.
Using this website
You should be able to:
- zoom the page and increase text size without losing the main content;
- navigate the main pages and forms using a keyboard;
- use visible focus indicators to see which control is active;
- use headings, landmarks and form labels with common screen readers;
- choose larger text, dark mode or reduced motion in the ORDIA Dashboard preferences;
- pause video and use browser controls;
- print or save household summaries on A4 pages.

How accessible the website is
ORDIA currently describes itself as partially conforming with WCAG 2.2 Level AA while further manual and assistive-technology testing is completed.
Known or potential limitations include:
- some older interface areas use symbolic characters where a consistent icon set would be clearer;
- the embedded video may not yet include complete synchronised captions and a full text transcript;
- browser-generated PDFs may vary in tagging and reading order between browsers and PDF viewers;
- complex dashboards and interactive charts need further testing with multiple screen readers and speech-control tools;
- some third-party services, including Calendly, WhatsApp and external official-data sites, are outside ORDIA’s control.
What we are doing to improve accessibility
We are reviewing representative pages and journeys, including the homepage, Household Check, Energy Data Passport, ORDIA Dashboard, privacy controls and printable summaries. The improvement plan includes:
- testing complete journeys using keyboard-only navigation;
- testing with current versions of NVDA, VoiceOver and common browsers;
- providing accurate captions and a transcript for Paul’s video;
- reviewing colour contrast, text reflow, touch-target size and error messages;
- checking printable summaries for accessible reading order and meaningful document structure;
- recording and fixing any issues reported by visitors.
Alternative formats and help
Contact Paul if you need website information in another format, such as a larger-print summary, plain-text explanation, telephone conversation or help completing a household check. We will discuss a reasonable alternative and aim to respond within five working days.

Equality and reasonable adjustments
ORDIA is a private service and is not presenting this statement as compliance with the public-sector accessibility regulations. UK service providers nevertheless have duties concerning disabled people and reasonable adjustments under equality law. This statement uses the WCAG 2.2 AA standard as a practical benchmark for improvement.
How this statement was prepared
This statement was prepared on 30 July 2026. The current release was checked using source-code inspection and automated structural tests across representative pages. It has not yet been independently audited or comprehensively tested with disabled users.
The statement will be reviewed after material design changes, after a formal audit, or by 30 January 2027, whichever comes first.
